BRAND & GRAPHICS
“An illustration that does not complement a story, in the end, will become but a false idol. Since we cannot possibly believe in an absent story, we will naturally begin believing in the picture itself.”
~Orhan Pamuk

Balance between illustration (inc. photography) and the written word is a powerful motivator.

Conference Identity
The annual Goalmakers Conference is GlobalWA's marquee event, drawing on average 350 participants. When I started at GlobalWA the event had a simple identity. Since this was such an important two days of learning and networking, I proposed creating a more permanent brand. Below are the results starting in 2022 with options and variations, and how it was adapted per year.

Program Branding
We added programs to our core member offerings and they needed rebranding to be part of the whole GlobalWA family of programs. We kept the original Pangea logo and I redesigned the Women of the World logo to be more in line with GlobalWA brand standards.

Global Washington Banners
Most major events were accompanied by not only a social campaign but also a banner for our home page. Here are a couple examples.

Tagging on the podcast banner, here are a few social graphics announcing new episodes. (I fully managed and produced the Goalmaker Podcast series.)

Other Brand Identities / Logos
Following are my company logo which I initially designed then art directed the update. (I was co-founder of Fuse IQ and was the primary designer of our tech solutions before we grew and my responsibilities diversified, then I oversaw a team of designers and was the creative director.)

At Fuse IQ, I took over as lead organizer of Seattle Tech4Good, a monthly meetup program co-sponsored by NTEN and TechSoup. I created social channels and this logo.

I helped found a nonprofit that helps a village region in Nepal: Basa Village Foundation. I was elected as the executive director in 2015 (which I relinquished in 2022) and built a new website and created the foundation logo.

During COVID I had sold my half of my company, Fuse IQ, and had a great network from running Seattle Tech4Good and helping DemocracyLab, a platform for aggregating tech volunteers and hackathon series. I decided to create my own volunteer project called Givingful - a platform for the circular exchange of goods exclusively for nonprofits. I did not design the logo below but was creative director and managed many iterations before settling on this one. (The project is in Beta)

Social Media Graphics
Global Washington has seven social media channels which I managed during my tenure, creating content and graphics. Below are various promotions represented through Instagram-specific graphics (and adapted for multiple social channels).

Global Washington is a membership-based association which is partially funded by member dues. Below are several member promo graphics, the last which accompanied a revised strategic plan.
