WEB & TECHNOLOGY

Creating with Purpose

The development lifecycle of medium- to large-scale web and data solutions can be daunting. Crafting small projects can be managed in a lean fashion with a small team, and the more data points and functions coupled with smart, usable design requires more planning, stages, and input from multiple players.

To ensure successful outcomes, my role for many years at my company, Fuse IQ, required relentless attention and consistent touchpoints with decision-makers and stakeholders, and diligent oversight of my team of managers, developers, and designers.

My role as business owner additionally included initial priority mapping, scope and functional specifications definition, team creation, budgeting, and contracts.

Helping Organizations in the PNW, Nationally, and Globally

Starting in 2001 with local environmentally focused organizations and two staff (I was the web designer) we quickly proved our acumen and landed larger and larger clients, some of which you can see here. By the time I sold my portion of Fuse IQ, we had a team of 15 helping with projects with budgets of $10,000-$400,000.

For example, we created 13 distinct web projects for the University of Washington, including a first-ever international global good called TrainSmart which helped HIV doctor training across the globe, and we completed several UN projects as well as a full redesign of the Art Institute of Chicago's website and Chihuly Studios.
